Measurement of the bevel angle
Bevel angle - angle formed by the end face of the workpiece and the edge plane
∴ Due to its design features, the TapiRUS can be used in measuring the bevel angle for complex types of cuttings as well as in assessment of the welding preparation quality for welding of repairable sections of a welded joint.
● Set TapiRUS to Zero
● Place TapiRUS on the test object.
● Lower the pivots in contact with the test object and tightly lock them in that position.

● Adjust the linear member so that the taper gauge goes above the point corresponding to the start of the bevel angle.
● Lower the top High-Lo arm until the taper gauge makes contact with the surface of the welded joint.
● From the horizontal scale denoted by the letter W, take the readings of the parameter w and subsequently from the vertical scale denoted by the letter H, take readings of the parameter h .
● Adjust the linear member so that the taper gauge goes above the point corresponding to the end of the bevel angle, lower the top High-Lo until the taper gauge makes contact with the surface of the welded joint.
